We live far from extended family, but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the holidays together in creative ways. My mother, my kids’ Nana, sends a special treat box to my children every holiday. In a box we received for Easter several year ago, my mom included a bunny ears headband. This headband has been loved nearly to death. My littlest one has claimed the bunny ears for herself and she wears them with pride multiple times a week, every week of the year. I have so many pictures and videos of her with her rosy cheeks and toothy smile with those sweet bunny ears atop her head. Easter just isn’t complete without bunny ears.

There will come a time in the distant future when that bunny ears headband no longer fits or has been worn out to the point of being unwearable, but the memories of my children running around the house with those silly ears on their heads will always live on. I’ve found a way to celeBEARate those Easter bunny ears forever with this BEAR-y sweet Easter blanket (sorry not sorry for all the bear puns, I know they can be unBEARable). Bears are another reoccurring motif in our household as many of my children’s favorite books feature bears as the main characters. It only seemed a fitting tribute to my own little bears to make an Easter Bunny Bear for them and immortalize our Easter memories forever.

Gauge and Size

• This chart is 60 squares by 90 squares
• The approximate finished size using the recommended medium worsted weight yarn and hook size is 45″x68″ or 114x173cm
• Gauge will vary depending on the brand of yarn used and your personal tension, but a 7×7 square made with the recommended medium worsted weight yarn and hook should be approximately 5”x5” or 13x13cm. Your personal gauge can affect the finished size by several inches/centimeters.
