I was wandering though the yarn aisle, as I am wont to do, when I stumbled upon this amazing yarn. Soft, warm, cozy; all perfect words to describe this wonderful acrylic/alpaca blend. I bought several balls on impulse. You never know when a yarn is going to be discontinued and I didn’t want to miss out.
I have two different methods of creating. Sometimes I have an idea or a pattern in mind and I shop for specific yarn that will fit the design. Other times, I see yarn and I’m inspired by the fibers and the idea and pattern will come to me after.
The latter was the case with this yarn. I didn’t have a design or pattern in mind, but I knew the yarn would speak to me eventually. And it did. The yarn itself is simple, so I designed a textured hat to highlight the yarn. It’s made up of double crochets, puffs, and clusters, making it thick and plush, yet also open for mild winter days.
You can find both the pattern and finished hats in my Etsy store: the PDF Pattern here or the finished hat here!
